COOMBES has demonstrated its dedication to personnel development by becoming a member of The 5% Club, an initiative led by the industry to bolster the hiring of apprentices, graduates, and sponsored students.
The 5% Club is a group of over 800 employers dedicated to offering "earn and learn" opportunities that help people develop the skills they need for meaningful careers. Members pledge to increase the number of apprentices, sponsored students, and formal program graduates in their workforce to 5% within five years. Additionally, they are expected to share their progress in their Annual Report.
Existing members range from SMEs to FTSEs and cover all sectors, including engineering, transport, and financial services. Additionally, businesses within The 5% Club can achieve Gold, Silver, or Bronze membership Status through the annual Employer Audit.
The Club was established in 2013 and, in its 10th Anniversary year, plans to utilise its platform and track record of achievements to interact with policymakers and influential figures on matters of importance and relevance. Its focus is on raising awareness and promoting action that connects skill investment with noticeable social impact.
Joining The 5% Club is a testament to our dedication to nurturing talent and ensuring a brighter future for our workforce. As a company, we believe in the power of 'earn while you learn' opportunities and are committed to paving robust career pathways for our young professionals. Our membership in The 5% Club reinforces our belief in not just hiring but empowering and equipping the next generation with the skills they need to thrive.
