COOMBES is seeking a POS Rep, with experience of carrying out COSS and Crane Controller duties, to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.
Working alongside our in-house On Track Plant team, you will help to deliver safe plant operations for a wide range of maintenance and enhancement projects along the railway. Taking responsibility for the onsite management of OTP operations, you’ll act as the point of contact to ensure that all works are delivered safely and efficiently, on time and to budget.
Prior to works, you’ll take responsibility for the preparation and issue of POS packs, lift plans and documents in line with the company’s POS procedures and rail regulations. Working with in-house OTP, arboriculture, and civil engineering teams you will help to plan plant resources to support projects across the business.
About you:
You will have a good understanding of the POS Safe Works planning process and will have a solid understanding of the standards and regulations required to ensure the safe operation on Plant on track. You’ll hold PTS, COSS and Crane Controller qualifications and may have prior experience of acting as a POS rep in a similar company. You’ll have an understanding of the lift planning process and may hold a Lift Planner certificate.
Your clear communication skills will enable you to engage with everyone on track to ensure that work is carried out safely and efficiently. Acting as the COOMBES onsite representative, you’ll be able to maintain good working relationships with clients and subcontractors at all times. And you’ll be happy and able to deliver Toolbox Talks and briefings to operational teams prior to the start of works.
To support operations across the business this role is office based. However, you can choose to work at either of our two office sites, based in Petersfield, Hampshire or Rochester, Kent, and you should be willing and able to travel between office and operational work sites as required

Working hours: 40 hours per week, to be worked Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm with 1hr unpaid break each day, with weekend overtime available.
