About the vacancy:
COOMBES requires an experienced Forestry Works Manager to effectively prepare full scoping of our proposed projects across the country. In doing so, utilising your project management skills, you will create accurate estimates, detailed plans and programmes to ensure delivery within timescales and budgets. We are looking for candidates with people management skills and the ability to motivate, coordinate and supervise teams to deliver works.
A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, you will attend pre-commencement meetings with the client, leading and advising on COOMBES’s programme. You will proactively liaise with clients and internal colleagues to ensure smooth operations, monitor progress and provide an excellent service.
The successful candidate will collate, record and present data in the monitoring, management, reporting and evaluating of contract progress, including production rates. You will provide periodic reviews incorporating budgets and timescales to the Forestry management team.
As Forestry Works Manager, identifying business development/growth opportunities for COOMBES through establishing and developing relationships across the industry will be essential for your success. You will monitor and secure the best rates for harvesting and identify business and funding opportunities. Previous experience with bid and tender processes is therefore essential.
The role will require you to be a self-motivated team member who can work both independently and ‘muck-in’ as part of a team. You will take pride in your work, complete tasks to a high standard, in line with COOMBES’s ethos and values.
